I like this black pigment called kimrök... carbon black or lampblack in english...

  2. I agree about the name.
    It's not hard to work with exept when tearing the pigment...it's like a flying powder and if you not work carefullu you will have black dust all over. I tear(dont't know if that's the right word, river på svenska) it with cheep and strong alcohol and use different mediums mostly acrylic, but i think tempera and oilbased mediums works as well. When torn I mix the pigment with white coulour. Kimrök is very intense so you have to be careful not taking to much of it. There are also readymades but I don't think they can compete with the home made..hope I made it clear!
